During his arraignment Thursday afternoon, a judge set Rogers’ bond at $1 million. His next court appeared is set for Feb. 20.
Rogers is accused of fatally shooting 33-year-old Jaime Dick early Tuesday morning.
At 2:06 a.m., Montgomery County Regional Dispatch received a 911 call from a man who said he shot his girlfriend three times.
He also said he was armed and wasn’t “going out without a (expletive) fight,” according to dispatch records.
When Dayton police responded to the 4700 block of Queens Avenue, Rogers walked outside and repeated he shot his girlfriend, according to court records.
Police found her inside her running vehicle, which was parked on the road near her home.
She had multiple gunshot wounds, Dayton police Lt. Eric Sheldon said.
Dick was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The passenger window on Dick’s vehicle was shot and police found casings on the street and sidewalk next to and in front of the vehicle, according to an affidavit.
Rogers is being held in the Montgomery County Jail as of Thursday afternoon.
